Doctorly meanwhile had a more mixed opinion. While they liked its lightweight feel and lack of white cast, they found the texture unusual, somewhere between creamy and gritty. Although it became more matte throughout the day, they ultimately preferred other Japanese sunscreens they tested.

Hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and arginine help keep skin comfortable throughout the day, making it ideal for hot, humid weather.  

6. Isehan Sunkiller Perfect Water Essence SPF 50+  

Dr. Jenny Liu also highlights the Isehan Sunkiller Perfect Water Essence as an excellent everyday sunscreen, particularly for people sensitive to alcohol-based formulas. Despite being alcohol-free, it still delivers a lightweight, elegant finish with no white cast and contains multiple forms of hyaluronic acid along with antioxidant-rich botanical extracts for extra hydration. While it isn't water-resistant, she considers it an excellent daily sunscreen under makeup.
