House Japanese Ichimi Togarashi is a seasoning of powdered red chili pepper that brings pungency to dishes. If you wish to add spicy flavor, use this Japanese condiment.
Ichimi is literally translated as “one taste”, and means a spicy seasoning made from one ingredient only: red chili pepper. Compared with the shichimi togarashi, the ichimi togarashi is designed to enhance pungency, so it is suitable for spicy dishes including curry and mabo dofu (Japanese-style mapo dofu), but also goes well with most non-spicy dishes.
It is packaged in a convenient bottle: it is compact in terms of size; its square body makes it easy for you to grip it with less chance of slippage; and its octagon-shaped cap facilitates easy opening/closing.
