This product is a hon mirin, also known as "true mirin", which is the most traditional form of the seasoning. To be a hon mirin, mirin must be made from rice, koji and shochu alcohol, a combination that provides a deep umami flavor and balanced complexity, and have an alcohol content of around 14%.
